Dessert Table for Katy Perry

Katy Perry had a concert held by Ismaya Live on January 19th, 2012 at SICC, Sentul, and i did get a great chance to participate in small part to arrange a dessert table in her private room! The theme color is pink and purple, and mostly filled with floral things. It's so sad that i couldn't take pictures more than these!!!!
To be involved in a big concert for an international artist like Katy Perry left 'something big' in my heart too for sure. Thank you Calla for having me in your great team!

Nature Theme Party

A month ago i decorated dessert table for a very good friend of mine. It was her baby shower party, a small, intimate party for some of her family and closest friends. Though it's for her baby boy, but she didn't want to take any gender color like blue, and since she loves green, then finally we took 'Nature' for the theme, and this color became perfect since green is really ideal for the neutral one!

Like usual, i ordered flower arrangement from Florist Calla, Calla's team always helpful and knows exactly my style and always come with beautiful ideas, and what i really love is they always come with affordable price for excellent services!
Hunting green and wooden color things is not difficult, you can easily find these kind of things around you, things at your house, leaves in your garden, wooden baskets, wooden rope, branch, and trust me, this theme came in very low cost!
For the decoration table sets, i used match theme fabric that i bought from a crafty friend, Kiki, who also owns an online fabric store , Kimomo (visit her store makes you want to steal every cute fabrics displayed!).

I also really love to put the bird cages that i bought from Ria Nirwana  if you read my previous post about inacraft. and i threw a paper bird and a paper nest inside!

And for the sweeties, I ordered cupcakes from Mba Wulan (et cetera), bought lots of marshmallows, chocolate cookies, choco balls etc which are also easy to be found at your nearest food store
Hopefully this will inspire you in creating a nature theme party!

How To Make a Paper Boat

Im so flattered my sailor party is featured on kinderplays blog, so when Mba Junita asked me to share the tutorial of making paper boat origami, oh sure i will!
So here's my step-by-step guidance, honestly its very easy! I bet you can make it less then 5 minutes!
What you need is a A4/ HVS piece of paper. or for cuter one, you can also do with your unused newspaper!
STEP 1: Fold a piece of paper in half, top to bottom
STEP 2: Fold the top, creased corners down into the middle of the paper
STEP 3: Fold the bottom of the paper up against both sides
Now it's forming a triangle
STEP 4: Get the corners to meet, forming a square
STEP 5: Hold it with the flaps down and fold the corners into the top point
STEP 6: Meet the right and left point and forming into square

STEP 7: Pull the middle out to form a square
Tadaa, those opened wings forming a boat
Look at the bottom side
Give a room on that
Well done!

Tape the string on the ceiling and let the boats floating in the air!

joyeux anniversaire, khama!

It's my little girl first birthday, I picked Sailor theme since she doesn't have any girly idol like princess and the gank (and so does the mommy :D ). The party was held in a pool area, Monte Video Club House on April 17th.
This is the birthday cake. I was really happy with the cake's decoration, I ordered it from Et Cetera Cake, thank you, Mba Wulan for your great artwork!
Sailor Khama birthday cake
This is my first time decorating dessert table, i went to many places hunting for sailor theme stuffs and  dessert table equipments, and on the Dday, I also rent some stuffs (kid's tables and chairs ,backdrop, juice dispenser, and 2 tall candy glasses) from Kinderplays, (check out the blog, it gives such inspirations too). Thanks to Mba Junita for saving my party in my last minutes prep! For the decoration, i went with white, navy, red, and bright blue color scheme. I made lots of paper boat strung from the ceiling for the decorative element. Then for the  dessert table, i added flower to made it looks prettier. My big thanks too to Florist Calla, they're amazing, knew well what i really want and gave more than i expected.
For the party kits, I made name tags, lip-sticks, goodies sticker, cupcakes topper with sailor and pirates images and also the flags, but since i was too busy there, i forgot to put them on the cupcake and the baby meals.

The desserts included cupcakes, lollipops, cookies, jelly beans, chocolates, boiled egg, cereal, and yoghurt. And for the kid's main food, I ordered Baked Macaroni and Risotto from Khama's favorite one, Mamma Kanin (please be noted, they don't use any sugar, salt or any preservatives). Mba Inta is a very nice person, and she was really helpful for the party, when i told her about the theme, she's really looking for the theme's color wrapper for the meals. And guess what, it's exactly the same with mine too! What a sweet coincidence!

Last thing what you should see is my photobooth corner, i created a funny photoboard where guests could take a picture there with Khama's template :D
Well i can say my 'one week' preparation was not perfect though i had spent almost my 24 hours at my messy studio (in front of the computer designing, doing printing, cutting, gluing, and many more). But after all the most important thing for me is the party went well, everyone did enjoy it, and Khama really had a blast on her special day!
